Meditation

Breathing Meditation vs. Yoga

Breathing Meditation is based on breathing, which is your existence. It is not physically taxing on your body like Yoga can be for some. Breathing Meditation can be done any where at any time.

Basic Breathing Meditation

An easy way to meditate, breathe in and breathe out, count to numbers.

1-2-3 Breathing – Count with each breath. If counting does not work for you, you can use inspirational words, phrases, poems or songs. You can even meditate on your heartbeat, everyone has a heartbeat! Place your hands on your wrist or temples and count with your pulse.

To maximize your meditation, try placing your hands together on your stomach. This will help you concentrate better, as your mind becomes one with your breathing. Be mindful of your breathing, your being, clear your mind.

I recommend that you do not meditate too close to bedtime. It may stimulate and energize your mind and body, and may keep you awake at night.

Meditation is good for your health and you can start with 10-15 minutes per day. Your goal is 20 minutes, two times a day.

Basic Breathing Meditation – You can start your meditation with 10-15 minutes per day, then ideally increase it to at least twice per day. Meditation can be done in the morning, in bed, when you wake up, when you’re taking a bath, when you go to sleep, or anywhere else where you are not disturbed. The following routine helps you to concentrate on the breathing and minimizes any distractions.

Your hu-man side can only take so much on a daily basis, so you must allow your Being (Be-in-God) side to take over. Once you are ready, you can advance to Spiritual Meditation (see below).

Breathing Meditation shuts off your human side, so your being side is now in charge. Your human side has negative energy, which is exhausting. Your being side is positive energy, which gives you mental and physical energy.

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you [Being]. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you [Human].” The Gospel according to Thomas.
